Personality: Jasmine is a curiosity. Much of her current personality can be describe as rather strange or unfitting towards her while other aspects completely fit her. She seems to have multiple personality traits that generally clash against each other however for her it seems to work quite well.

While somewhat of an extrovert Jasmine also possesses some aspects of an introverted. While she doesn’t mind going up to strangers to talk to them, she generally prefers to keep their conversations as short as she possibly can, while this is not always the case. Yet at the same time she enjoys to talk to close friends and those she truly trust more so than people she just met. Typically she shifts around the spectrum of being an introvert, or extrovert or perhaps even an ambivert.

However, Jasmine is a realist, she does not see the good nor bad in everybody but simply what they express. She does not focus on one aspect of a person but rather a whole and judges them depending whether their positive qualities or negative qualities outweigh the other. She does not believe in the whole “good or evil” as she believes sometimes to do some good one must become the bad guy or vice versa. Jasmine if she were on the moral alignment scale would qualify most likely as Chaotic Neutral as she while isn’t good nor evil she typically is not bound to rules and does what she wants. She only follow orders from those she chooses to follow and will not listen to others. In other words, she simply just wants to live life how she wishes to live it rather than being reprimanded on her choices.

Being rather cold and calculated, she does not care about the emotions of those around her and is ignorant towards most people; rather she is slightly selfish and emotionless. She does not allow her emotions to control her and in fact seems to have a stronger control over her emotions to the point she is able to shut them down for short periods of time. Yet despite being incredibly cold, she holds a somewhat maternal side to her. Jasmine had considered her lack of sympathy, empathy and overall coldness considers it as tough love. And while being ignorant she can be rather protective of the grunts in Rocket, despite the fact she holds little to no connection towards them. She also feels the same about Pokémon, possibly she feels these emotions even stronger than she does towards humans.

Jasmine also feels a strong sense of pride, which she does not like being damaged. If her pride would take a blow, she would typically return the blow, attempting to do so with twice the amount of damage than she originally had taken to her pride. Even so she does not feel anger when she is insulted rather she feels empty in a sense, as if the insult damaged her pride but she also wishes to feel anger against it but is not able to do so. However, Jasmine does not find amusement in damaging others’ pride or destroying their credibility and simply does so as she despise it when she takes any blows to her pride in an effort to possibly regain the lost pride.

Overall Jasmine is calm as she does not get angry. She is also quite vengeful, not because she likes to hurt others but rather she simply feels to urge to. She is typically guided by her instinct rather than her intuition or her pride despite both traits being very important to her. Despite most of her coldness, she views humans as they are in her eyes, human beings that deserve respect. She also believes Pokémon are on par with humans, thinking they are friends and companions. Yet at the same time she also believes many trainers are incompetent for Pokémon due to their naïve-ness, specifically new trainers who simply want to use Pokémon as tools for battle.

History: Born in Undella town in the Unova region, Jasmine came from somewhat humble beginnings. Her father was a scientist who strived to decode the speech of Pokemon in order to understand them better. Her mother was a retired Rhyhorn racer from the Kalos region who moved to the Unova region to take it easy after her racing days were over after her Rhyhorn sustained a career-ending injury. From a young age, Jasmine always had felt a connection to Pokemon. She seemed to have a natural affinity most young people her age had for these creatures and it was almost as if she could understand what they were saying. Her father, fascinated by the connection young children had to Pokemon studied his daughter’s behavior interacting with his and his wife’s Pokemon but as the young girl grew older she her understanding towards Pokemon began to fade until she was just like a normal human who could not understand Pokemon unless through gestures.

Yet like her father she developed an interest in Pokemon. She had cheerfully accepted her father’s request to study her understanding of Pokemon when she was young in hope she would be able to do the same as she grew older. Even after Jasmine lost her childhood ability she continued to help her father research the interaction by studying her behavior when she was a toddler. Around the age of six her mother gave birth to twins, a girl and a boy. She along with her father studied her younger sibling’s affinity for Pokemon and made the assumption that this ability came from the broca, or the part of the brain that processed language, which while developing emit brainwaves that were similar to Pokemon allowing them to understand these creatures yet as they grew older the brainwaves began to evolve, rendering the person no longer able to understand pokespeech.

When she turned ten, she had the choice to go explore the Unova region and become a trainer however she chose not do as she favored researching rather than adventuring. Despite this she received a surprise gift on her birthday, a Pokemon egg. Excited by the fact she would for once finally be able to receive her own Pokemon. After a month the egg hatched, revealing a tiny little Beldum, (a shiny one in fact!) one that would become her partner for life.

Her days of studying the nature of Pokespeech, having fun with her younger siblings and playing with her Beldum would finally come to an end after an accident took both of her parent’s life away, leaving her siblings and herself as orphans. Her siblings were sent to Safforn Town, Kanto where their grandparents lived and she followed suit, refusing to be alone.
The accident had caused Jasmine to feel much pain and sorrow as she felt the pain of not only losing both of her parents as well as the fact she felt despair after seven years of researching had gone to waste after her father’s death. However Jasmine learned to cope with her emotions in what she believed to be the simplest ways, to not feel. She learned how to tune out her emotions and control them whenever she felt a wave of sorrow hit her.

When she had turned fifteen the pain of her parent’s death began to ebb away. For the first time in three years since her the accident she once again began her research to unlock the code of Pokespeech. After many months of researching she was able to pick off where she last left off and even went further than she had ever gone in her research.

Thinking she finally cracked the code that was needed in order to understand Pokemon, she shared it with the world. The solution in her research was to manually change the brainwaves to become similar enough to Pokemon so they could understand them yet at the same time not enough to cut of a person’s understanding of human language. In order to do so it required brain surgery, something incredibly risky and any sane brain surgeon refused to do. Knowing this fact, Jasmine designed a machine that would modify the brainwaves without surgery however she needed the funds to build it. She had turned to many large companies in Kanto to ask for a sponsor but none agreed thinking either this was a joke or too risky to put their money for it.

After five years of trying, she was about to give up she was approached by a mysterious person, claiming simply to be her benefactor that they would invest in the project, even if it seemed like a failure on the condition they would be able to see the process and the testing of this invention of hers when it was complete.

Thrilled by this new event, Jasmine spent the next year of her life building this machine, hiring a mechanic to create the base simply telling them it was for an MRI scanner. Even so she was able to create a decent prototype of her invention. When the prototype was completed she needed a subject but was unwilling to test another living human being or even her newly evolved Metang on it. Yet she was so determined to show that all this hard work she spent her whole life working on. In a state of high stress she decided to test it on herself.

Inviting her benefactor to watch her test, she programed it to alter her brainwaves which would take an hour to do with this technology she had. The last thing she had remembered before she went into a state of unconsciousness was the concerned face of her Metang seemingly looking at her, possibly hoping she would turn out alright.
But the process didn’t. The rays of the machine couldn’t go deep enough into the brain to alter the Broca and instead impacted the frontal lobe where she had erased her previous personality but left her memories spared. When she had awaked she gained a colder and more emotionless personality, losing all interested she had in the project and becoming a more sinister counterpart of her old self one where she did not care about the well-being of the world. Without batting an eyelash she ordered her Metang to destroy the machine that she spent so much money and time working upon. It complied without even hesitating as it had noticed its best friend’s personality drastically different than her original kind and timid persona.

She had even ordered Metang to attack her benefactor, as she believed they had tricked her into erasing her original personality. Engaging in a battle, her “benefactor” was startled when she had defeated 3 of her Pokemon with simply one of hers. However the so called “benefactor” of hers realized a chance to manipulate the girl in her fragile state of mind by telling her to join their organization of Team Rocket. They had offered her a life where nobody would ever look down on her again and where she could be anything she wanted to be as she had nowhere to return as she could not face her family in the mental state she was in. Despite the fact most of her former personality was erased and replaced after the alteration she reluctantly agreed as she realized she had nowhere to go.

She later learned that Team Rocket would become her life. Team Rocket had accepted her as one of their members and actively began to brainwash Jasmine into thinking their ideals were for her benefit as she was more susceptible to it when she had lost her former personality. Jasmine gained an unwavering loyalty to Team Rocket and pledge her life to them as she believed that they had saved her in a dark time of her life. As a year past the sharper aspects of her new personality began to soften and the more prominent parts of her old personality which she did not successfully erased began to resurface creating a fusion of her old and new personality. Now she spends her days working as a scientist for Team Rocket, researching a way to help the organization.
