Even for a little thing, Poochyena had a rather intimidating bark. Their reputation was not the best. They weren’t very well-known in the Kanto region, but just as in their home region of Hoenn, any Poochyena without an owner in sight could easily be mistaken for a wild Pokemon. So when one approached a stranger to start barking and darting around his ankles, the man froze, trying to step back and looking very nervous.
Behind the stranger, a Magnemite silently swept closer. While the man was stepping this way and that with his gaze trained for the Poochyena, the Magnemite darted about his waist and rear, discreetly drawing out coins with its magnetism. The small sounds of the coins sticking to its metal body were drowned out in the noise of city and the people bustling past. The man didn’t notice the Electric-type.
Soon enough, Samael ran up. “Poochyena! Hey! Quit botherin’ people, that ain’t nice! We talked about this,” the blond chided. The canine Pokemon growled up at the man it had been harassing, but stepped back to stare up at Samael, ears twitching. “Come on, calm down. Sit and be a good pup, huh?” Giving a small whine, the Poochyena sat obediently. Samael turned his attention to the stranger. “Hey, sorry about that! Poochyena are feisty little Pokemon, ya know? This lil girl runs off and makes trouble sometimes if I don’t catch it right away..”
“You better be sorry! That thing could have bit me!”
“Aww, it wouldn’t do that. I am real sorry though. Won’t happen again, I swear!” Maintaining a wide, pleasant smile, Samael picked up his Pokemon, rubbing his hand through its fur. “Sorry guy, you have a good one though!” He gave a little wave, turning to walk off with his Poochyena in his arms, which panted after its adventure and stared after the stranger.
The Magnemite, meanwhile, had finished up and disappeared not long after its owner’s approach. It floated back out from between the crowds to drift to Samael’s side. When he was ample distance from the stranger and stood off somewhere he wouldn’t be in the way of people passing by, he set his Poochyena down, and the Magnemite approached to drop its stolen coins into his hands - plus a little extra it had picked up in the form of keys. Samael examined the keys and tossed them aside disinterestedly, but he counted the coins in his palm. “Not bad, not bad,” Samael said lightly. “Good going, kiddos. You two are quite the team, eh?” He grinned, chuckling. The Poochyena gave a short bark in agreement, tail wagging, and the Magnemite displayed similar enthusiasm by turning its magnets this way and that.
