The pebble flew up in the air before plummeting back down into his hand. "Alright...!" he smiled before launching it across the surface of the water as it hoped, skipped and jumped and disappeared into the sunset. The Bulbasaur at his side cried in happiness as the two of them enjoyed the final moments of the evening on the banks of the Cerulean Cove.
Pierre sank back into the grassy knoll, admiring the sight. It was a far cry from Goldenrod City.. there was no secret why many of the residents escaped here. "Bulbaaaa!" the pokémon bounced up and down playfully prancing around on the bank. "We've come a long way Bulbasaur.." Pierre smiled at his companion as Bulbasaur ran and tackled him playfully. "We're a good team, Bulbasaur.." he added raising the pokémon up with the strength in his arms. The both of them laughed wholeheartedly for a few moments before relaxing and sinking back into their comfortable positions beside one another.
The peace wasn't around for much longer, as there was disturbance on the water. Both Bulbasaur and Pierre leapt into action, as cries for help could be heard in the distance..

COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness
The sky was flying underneath Alessandra faster than she can keep track of. The boat dropped her off at the Vermilion City Port not long ago, and she was already traveling to the region over for a festival, but first she needed take a small detour for shopping. Cerulean city she heard was a nice sized city for the Region, so if there was anything she needed, she would be able to find it there. With her Emolga, Momo, at her side, they took a slight detour and flew to the beautiful city of Cerulean.
A few minutes later they arrived to the city north of where she landed, and the Fearow took off. Momo sat on her shoulders, and they were ready to get going. The shops were open, and so was a small eating place. As they made their trek, Momo pointed out the cove they spotted while flying to the city, and so they changed direction, with Momo flying as fast as he can to the water.
It didn't take long before Momo had gotten himself in trouble, as he stepped on a Corphish that grabbed him with his claw. Momo was able to get himself free with a quick jolt of elecricity, but not after crying loudly for help, and Alessandra running as fast as she can to protect her baby.
She scooped him up in her arms, petting him softly as they got out of the water. "It's ok, sometimes pokemon don't like to share the water. We can play somewhere else." She continued to care for Emolga, not noticing those nearby.

▲ The young man sprinted across the river bank before reaching what appeared to be a young female trainer. Pierre observed for a few moments, as he tried to piece together the events. A lobster-looking pokémon was looked rather worse for wear around the pebbles, whilst the electric mouse pokémon being cuddled by the trainer seemed to have been attacked the claw species.
Pierre wasn't fortunate enough to be in possession of a Pokédex, and many species were not native of Johto which was one of the reasons why he enjoyed to explore Kanto so much. Neither species before him he recognized.
"Oh.." Pierre winced, having expected more danger at first. Bulbasaur smiled towards the female trainer as the two of them made themselves present, not wanting to disturb the trainer. "I'm sorry.. we thought.." Pierre hesitated. "We heard the commotion and came rushing.." he paused. "Is your pokémon okay.. do we need to get to a pokécentre?" Pierre sounded concerned, before turning to the Corphish on the floor who looked rather paralyzed.
It was then that Pierre saw it. There were an unusual amount of bubbles floating to the surface of the cove. "Huh?" he internally thought trying to piece together the puzzle as the girl comforted her pokémon. With each passing wave, they bubbles drew closer. "Oh no.." Pierre spoke in caution. "I think you may have upset this pokémon's family.."
Bulbasaur reared up. They had experienced instances of this before. Many wild pokémon roamed in packs or families, it was safer for them to keep away from trainers or other wild pokémon. Perhaps the Corphish had been a child, or perhap it had dropped a signal to inform it's peers. Who knew.. what was certain however was that they were approaching.

COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness
Alesandra kept comforting her Emolga as the man and his Bulbasaur came up. Momo wasn't really hurt, just sore from a surprise claw snapping at him. She smiled at the Bulbasaur and the man before answering them. "No, Momo is fine. He is just a little shocked is all."
She continued to care for Momo as she looked for the mean Corphish that snapped at him, hoping to stay out of its way. As she was looking, she heard the man say oh no. Oh no? What is he saying Oh No for? She looked quickly at what he was looking at and noticed a bunch of bubbles coming from the surface of the water. Oh no, we did upset its family! Alessandra quickly ran behind the man and his Bulbasaur as they seemed more adept at this, especially since they ran into action to protect her.
Alessandra and Momo weren't really fighters, and were nowhere near ready to take on a horde of lobster pokemon. "Uhm, if you can make them go away, that be great." She let out a soft chuckle, hoping they would be able to deal with the problem by defeating them or scaring them away, so long as they left her poor little Momo alone.

▲ "...." Pierre sighed, before grappling the two pokéballs on his waist. "Alright you heard the woman... Nidoran! Haunter! you're up!" the pokéballs flew into the air before the two pokémon appeared before the existing party.
"Bulba.." "Haunt-ER" "Nido! RAAN!"
The three musketeers grimaced at the sight of the approaching Corphish. They were outnumbered quite significantly. They looked to Pierre for inspiration. He nodded back and them confidently.
"Okay...Bulbasaur.. Leech Seed!" Pierre ordered, and out popped the seeds to leech, as he prepared the trap for the Corphish approaching the shore.
"Haunter, I want you to be as mischievous as ever.. cause disruption in their ranks.." the Haunter smiled deviously before floating into the distance, enjoying his free-flowing role.
"Nidoran.. you'll be the front line.. if any Corphish get past our seeds.. you make sure they regret it.. okay?" the Niodran nodded with pleasure, kick its back legs into gear and preparing for a glorious charge.
Pierre narrowed his eyes on Bulbasaur, clearly the pokémon he had the closest relationship with. If the enemy pokémon were water types as Pierre suspected.. Bulbasaur would be key to their success. "You know what to do.." he thought as Bulbasaur closed his eyes and focused.
......
The bubble turned into the scuttering of claws upon the shore at they approached. They were of different sizes, with great, deadly pincers. "Hmph.." Pierre admired as they stormed the beaches. The Haunter floated, dodging the water gun attacks fired at him and retaliating with a few confuse rays to cause disruption. Some of the lobsters decided to attack one another out of confusion which thinned the ranks out.
It wasn't long before they reached the trap set for them. Bulbasaur leapt to action, as his vines extended whipping each of the wild pokémon with his extended reach. "That's it Bulbasaur.. keep it up!" Pierre admired his hard work, as the pokémon had their health sapped, and defended off his elegant vines.
Nidoran stepped up to, charging around like a bull in a china shop, launching the poor lobsters into the air with his horn. Bulbasaur was a little smarter than the still learning poison pokémon and ensured that the rodent was well defended, particularly on his flanks.
The melee shortly came to an end, with the Corphish dragging their wounded allies back into the water. "Not so fast!" Pierre smirked, gripping a spare pokéball in his bag. "GO POKÉBALL!" and with that he flung the pokéball into the air, before it sucked up the Corphish who had fallen victim to Emolga. The pokéball rocked three times, before clicking into place. Beofre the Corphish could circle the pokéball and try and rescue their friend, Haunter levitated the ball and returned it to Pierre.
"Hmph..." he smiled, attaching the nearly caught Corphish to his belt. "..perhaps we could use a trip to the Pokécentre.. after all." Pierre laughed, acknowledge that his pokémon had put in a stalwart effort to defend the both of them. No doubt all of them would have succumbed to the lobster pokémon if nobody had stood their ground.

COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness
Alessandra watched as the man grabbed two more pokeballs from his waist, unleashing a Haunter and a Nidoran to join the ranks. Nidoran seemed to be the muscle of his pokemon, Haunter the trickster, and his Bulbasaur was the brains. He ordered the pokemon in what seemed like a strategic way to make sure the Corphish didn't get to close, and they would have a way to deal with them all. As they went into action, she was amazed.
The Haunter weaving in an out causing confusion, the Nidoran flinging them away with his horn, and Bulbasaur laying out seeds and whipping them with his vines. Alessandra was not into battling, but this craftsmanship and unique way of dealing with the situation is what has started her on her path to become a coordinator. Maybe when this is over, Momo and her can learn a thing or two from him.
As the Corphish made their retreat back to the water, a pokeball was thrown and caught the lobster that snapped at her precious Momo earlier. With the danger of the lobster horde gone, she was now able to breathe a sigh of relief and relax. Momo was also happy the Corphish were gone, so long as the one caught stays in his ball.
As he mentioned they should make their way to the Pokecenter, she snapped her head to his direction and nodded in agreement. Letting the pokemon relax and grabbing a bite to eat seemed like a good idea to go for. She was happy the situation was over with, and things going forward were looking ok.
"I haven't gotten your name yet. I'm Alessandra, how about yourself?"

▲ "It is a pleasure to meet you Alessandra.." he smiled, it pained him a little that she didn't say thank you. But he shrugged it off, perhaps she was caught in the moment, or perhaps she just hadn't been raised that way. Perhaps she thought she could protect herself. Nonetheless Pierre felt content he had done the right thing, and besides it was more target practice for his own pokémon.
"Pierre.. is my name.." he didn't mention his surname often, it was a reasonably well-known name; perhaps not so much in Kanto, however the Dumont family were a considerable tycoon. The two of them walked side by side, with Bulbasaur marching along at the heel and Alessandra's Amolga resting comfortably in her arms.
"So.. Alessandra.." Pierre began as they crossed the boardwalk which seperated Cerulean City from the cove. There was the fresh smell of riverwater in the air, and Magikarp freely bounced up and down in the current. "..what is it that you do?" Pierre didn't mean it impolitely, however given that Amolga had taken a beating from such a lowly lobster, then it suggested she was a novice trainer or maybe not a trainer at all. "..that's a mighty rare pokémon.." Pierre added insinuating that she was likely not from around here and he pushed the question further "..have you been in Kanto long?" his questions were structured, and purposeful and although it probably felt like a interrogation, there was a care and an interest in the way he asked it.
It wasn't long before that arrived at the pokécentre. Pierre held the door for Alessandra before following her in. Fortunately there were two booths available. He nodded, before they went their separate ways for a few moments. Bulbasaur was returned to his pokéball for a few moments, as Pierre handed all four balls over to Nurse Joy.
"Ding..ding...ding..ding..ding"
All four of his pokémon were healed and Nurse Joy bid him a good day. Pierre returned the gesture, although he questioned how much fun there was to be had stuck in the same building everyday.

COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness
Pierre she learned was the mans name. She was glad he said it was a pleasure, as she was secretly thinking this was a horrible first encounter to have. Not only was it her first time meeting this person, but also her first real experience in the Kanto Region. This kind of experience never happened to her in Unova, and being attacked by a group of pokemon was something they didn't expect would be something that happens as well. Hopefully this is just bad luck, and things will get better.
She followed Pierre over the crosswalk to Cerulean, trying to figure out a way to keep the conversation going. When she heard her name, she looked up a little, listening to the rest of what he had to say before she began to say anything.
"Well, I'm an aspiring Pokemon Coordinator." She looked at her Emolga for reassurance, watching him nod that yes they can do it. It was obvious they weren't skilled in battling, and Emolga and her weren't native to this region. "Well, we only arrived here a few hours ago. Unova is our home." Hopefully that would explain why they didn't know random pokemon would attack them for playing in the water, as Pierre seemed to know a decent amount about the city they are in.
They continued to make their way to the Pokecenter. As Pierre held the door open for her, she gave him a soft smile before going to an open booth as Pierre went to another. Momo hated his pokeball, but gave in reluctantly as he hated the pain from the Corphish even more.
A few moments later her Momo was returned, and she instantly released him from his pokeball so she can rest on her shoulder. She made her way over to Pierre, wondering if this was the end of their encounter or if they were to continue their conversation. "That battle was pretty impressive, are you battling the gyms in this region?" She wasn't to use to talking to trainers, as most of her friends back in Unova were performers, but this place seemed different, and she could use a friend who knew what was going on.

Pierre pulled out the seat for her, before allowing her to sit. Fulfilling his gentlemen duties as chivalrously as possible before returning to his own seat. She compared him to a pokémon professor, and in someways he agreed with her although he felt his ‘profession’ was far more rounded than a professor. Usually professors focused in on a certain aspect about pokémon. For example, Professor Oak of Pallet Town focused keenly on the interactions between Pokémon and humans whereas Professor Birch of Littleroot Town focused on the habitats of pokémon. “Hahaha..” he laughed, maybe in the future but for now he was just a traveller with a passion for learning although he appreciated the compliment. “A professor, you think?” he went on to joke “I’m a little too young for that..”
“..well I was born and raised in Johto.. In Goldenrod City in fact..” he explained. “Fortunately Kanto and Johto are well connected and it is reasonably easy to make the commute back and forth..” especially considering he was from Goldenrod City, the train took him directly to Kanto and it was reasonably inexpensive. “Beyond that however, I haven’t been to any other regions.. Although I have read about them..” another keen interest of his. Particularly older texts that spoke of the origins of the world, and of legendary pokémon. “..and yes, I would love to go to Unova one day..” he smiled, knowing that she was probably eagerly to know that her homeland was in consideration.
The waiter not long appeared with menus, handing one each to either of them. As usual there was a menu for humans, and a menu for pokémon. Pierre scanned the menu briefly, but having been here before the decision was relatively easy. He gave the woman plenty of time to make her decision, knowing she would need to consult her pokémon in the process. In the meanwhile Pierre released all of his pokémon including the new recruit, whom he was keen to keep in line. “Alright Corphish.. I want to to be friends to Momo.. understand??” his voice was firm but reassuring. The Corphish wobbled his head back and forth in agreement, before scuttling across the Amolga and extending his claw in apology.
“So, what are you plans in Kanto; where as you set to go next?” Pierre assumed Cerulean City wasn’t her prime destination.

COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness
Alessandra followed Pierre out of the pokecenter, wondering what they will be doing next. She didn't know how popular being a coordinator was in this region, so maybe she sounded a little weird for that, but hopefully not to much. Unova was far from the Kanto region, and it seems people emigrate from Kanto more to Unova than the other way around.
Pierre seemed inquisitive as to why she came from Unova, but it wasn't a topic she cared to much to get into at the moment. While she doubted any of her fans from home would recognize her here, she wanted to make a new name for herself here.
She listened to Pierre as he talked to battles. He didn't seem to care for them to much, but he surely was experienced, as she saw as he dismantled the group of Corphish earlier. Though a trainer not wanting to go after the Gyms and pursue a dream at being champion seemed awkward, but maybe he just enjoyed the companionship and wanted to travel. The Bulbasaur seemed to agree they needed more time to tackle the gyms, so maybe it is something they will attack later.
Before her thoughts could keep rambling on, he explained his choice for why he didn't want to battle the gyms. He wanted to explore, learn about the pokemon, study from the gyms instead of battle off their strength. He seemed very insightful, as if he has been on his journey for a long time. He reminded her of a Pokemon Professor, choosing to study in the field instead of a lab.
A bite to eat? Well, that was her original intention to do upon arrival here, until Momo decided to go play. But having somebody else to eat with is always better than eating alone, and hopefully Momo will enjoy himself as well. She agreed with going for lunch, following Pierre to the restaurant.
"So, what regions have you studied already? You sound like a young professor." She still didn't know what to say to him, but the more time she spent with Pierre, the more intriguing and caring he seemed to become. Maybe if things go well, she will have a friend to show her around Kanto.
