What are Story Arcs?

Because Victory Road is a member driven site which does not revolve around a central storyline, the main focus is on "Story Arcs". But what is a Story Arc exactly? Think of them as long term plots that revolve around a single character or group of characters who share a story. The Story Arc might be about a personal ambition, a mysterious or tragic part of history, or really anything that requires multiple threads and considerable character growth to see through. Story Arcs are a character's chance to be the protagonist and to get other members involved in weaving together a consistent tale of epic proportions.

So, while the staff will post Story Arcs from time to time as site-wide events or contests, members are completely free, and absolutely encouraged, to create their own Story Arcs for others to get involved in. For the most part members only need to post a thread describing details about the planned Story Arc and a staff member will look it over and give the okay. For more complex Story Arcs, especially those which might impact a large portion of the site, it might be best to run a quick PM by the staff first though, but ultimately that's up to you.
