Biography
Marcy was a sickly person from the time she was born. With a naturally weak immune system, her mother and father had always guarded her. She was constantly getting sick, and the more sick she was, the longer she would have to stay inside. So instead of playing with other kids, Marcy took to spending time alone, began drawing to fill the long days where she was stuck inside. She didn't have much interaction with Pokemon either, other than the occasional Pidgey that would come up to the window. It's easy to see how she grew up seeking the same sort of quiet she had in those times she spent alone.
Though one day shortly after her 15th birthday, one of her doctors suggested her finally taking a journey like the other kids her age in the town had. She was apparently strong enough, and so long as she didn't overdo it, the fresh air and change of scenery would be good for her. But Marcy didn't want to go. She didn't know a thing about Pokemon, but her parents were now convinced the Journey would help her condition improve. That maybe it was just what she needed. So they took her to the Town's lab where she was presented three Pokemon. Not knowing a thing about any of them, she chose the grass type, Chikorita. Now armed with a book on Pokemon Care, Marcy was ready to (reluctantly) make her way from New Bark.
