[PTab=BIOGRAPHY]
ITS YOU AND ME, I KNOW IT'S MY DESTINY
Biography
Luna Girard was born fifteen years ago in the sprawling metropolis known as Lumiose City, situated in the heartland of the Kalos region. She was the daughter and sole child of Ulrich and Fleur Girard, two Kalos natives who owned and ran a small cafe in Lumiose City named the 'White Rose'.
As a young child Luna was quite reserved and a bit of a loner. The girl had trouble making friends out of the other neighborhood kids, and even when she was out in the city with her parents or hanging around near their home, she preferred to remain to herself. As a result Luna would end up spending most of her time with her parents at the White Rose. At first she would simply play by herself or with her parents Furfrou, but as she got older Luna began to help her father and mother run the cafe more and more, which only further prevented the girl from getting out much. Not that Luna exactly minded, but it did mean that over time the young girl began to lose interest in even attempting to join the other kids in their games and adventures, finding solace more in working the cafe counter or in nursing a growing love of music than meeting others. Thus, for a time the small cafe became about the only world a young Luna knew.
Well, that and the world of Pokemon contests. When she was not making tea for customers or listening to her favorite tracks, Luna would grow up watching broadcasts of different Pokemon contests which her parents would sometimes put on the small TV in their cafe. At first the live broadcasts and re-runs would only pass time for the girl, but as Luna watched the dazzling displays of the coordinators and their Pokemon and the cheering of the audience, she began to dream of performing as a coordinator herself. Not that Luna could imagine herself ever remotely doing it. In truth the girl did not truly believe she had what it took to perform in front of a crowd if she could not even bring herself to make a friend, and her ambitions remained nothing more than wistful dreams for a long time.
Things would begin to change, however, when Luna was eleven years old. It was during one of her weekly trips to the market for groceries when the girl heard a soft noise coming from a nearby alleyway. Curious, Luna would investigate the noise only to find the curled up form of a sick Eevee, barely breathing and ragged nearly beyond recognition. Concerned for the Pokemon, Luna would end up taking him home and showing the weakened Eevee to her parents. And so for the next couple of weeks the Girard family would work to nurse the Pokemon back to health. For a time it seemed as if the Eevee was beyond saving, but thanks to Luna's parents, and in no small part to the girl herself, the Pokemon would eventually make a full recovery to Luna's relief.
But as relieved as she was, Luna could hardly have expected how much the Eevee would end up changing her life. With no idea from where the Eevee came from and thinking it was time for Luna to have a Pokemon of her own, both Ulrich and Fleur suggested that their daughter adopt him. Not that the idea was so easily executed. The Eevee, once conscious again, had become rather terrified at his new surroundings, and toward Luna and her parents most of all. Not to mention that Luna herself, although having grown somewhat fond of the Eevee, would hardly admit it and even doubted her ability to care for the Pokemon.
But as the days became weeks and then months and finally years, this would change completely. As they spent more and more time near one another both the Eevee and Luna would become more comfortable with one another. So comfortable, that over time they became the closest of friends. Luna and the Eevee would end up hardly spending a moment apart from one another, and not only would the Pokemon always accompany Luna as she went about Lumiose City on errands for the White Rose, but the girl absolutely refused to put her new friend in a Poke Ball, despite her parents' insistence.
Things did not stop there, however. Even Ulrich and Fleur could tell how much an impact the Eevee's friendship had on Luna. Once the Eevee had warmed up to Luna it's true nature began to surface past it's fears, and unlike the girl her Pokemon proved to be nothing but playful, friendly, and holding an almost insatiable curiosity. At first Luna was almost annoyed by the Eevee's attitude, but she begrudgingly allowed him to often times drag her across Lumiose City, all but forcing her to meet other people and Pokemon. And it changed her. Annoyance became curiosity and then even happiness as Luna began to warm to not only her new friend, but toward the city as a whole. No longer would the girl simply shut herself away at the White Rose, instead exploring the city with the Eevee, and even making a few neighborhood friends along the way. All thanks to to her new Pokemon. In fact, so great became her attachment to the Eevee that she would even end up nicknaming him 'Lucky'. Lucky for the luck which brought Luna to the Eevee's rescue in that alleyway, but also for how lucky Luna began to feel for finding her first real friend in the Pokemon.
Together Luna and Lucky would live in and explore Lumiose City for the next couple of years, until the girl's thirteenth birthday came around. It was then that her parents finally pitched the idea of Luna leaving the cafe and Lumiose City and going on her own Pokemon journey. Previously Luna had all but passed off the idea with indifference even as her tenth birthday came and went, but now that she had Lucky, and more importantly had begun to gain confidence toward the outside world, both Ulrich and Fleur thought it was high time Luna had the experience. And Luna actually came to agree after a time.
Not that the girl was still not nervous inside as she took the first few steps outside the city. Practically all she had known in life had been the White Rose, and she had never really expected to leave it, let alone the city as a whole. But with Lucky by her side and her parents' well wishes Luna managed to muster enough confidence to set out, and so began her very own Pokemon journey as a trainer. She would spend the next several months roaming around Kalos. At first Luna remained apprehensive toward the whole experience, and even actively sought to avoid any trainers or Pokemon she came across. But with Lucky's encouragement and the occasional accidental meeting the girl did end up coming across a number of encounters. And Luna actually found herself...enjoying them. Unlike her doubts nearly all the trainers she came across were friendly if not determined to battle her, and even the hordes of wild Pokemon between towns were cautious at worst, and even curious toward her at best. After a time the girl found herself looking forward to coming across the next town or Pokemon Center, and even traded numbers with a few trainers she befriended along the way. Luna also caught a Pokemon for the very first time not long after she left Lumiose City, a Fletchling which she nicknamed Nix, and together the three of them had their fair share of adventures.
But as much as the girl enjoyed spending time with her Pokemon and even meeting others, she could not help but find the experience of being a trainer as a whole to be rather...unfulfilling. Battles did not exactly excite her as much as they did others, she had no ambition to catch hundreds of Pokemon, and, while she did enjoy exploring new towns and locations, Luna felt she had no real direction. Which was when memories of her time in the White Rose resurfaced. In particular the girl began to think back on all the contests she had watched as a child, and of the dream she used to hold of becoming a coordinator. Sure, the same dream had seemed impossible to the girl at one point, but now that she no longer shunned attention and had Lucky and Nix by her side, Luna began to doubt that feeling.
And so, with such thoughts in her head, Luna would end up returning to Lumiose City and going to her surprised parents with a proposal: that she leave the Kalos region for one of the regions which held contests so that she could pursue her dream of becoming a coordinator. At first both Ulrich and Fleur were unsure of the proposal. Both had wanted Luna to go on her own journey, but neither had imagined she would leave the region entirely. But with Luna's own insistence and realizing on their own how much the dream meant to their daughter, both would eventually concede and offer their support in helping the girl leave Kalos. It took a few weeks for the three to settle on a particular region, but in the end they did so, and Luna soon found herself leaving Lumiose City once more, only this time she would leave the Kalos region entirely as she took a boat to what would end up becoming her new home away from home.
Kanto.
Almost immediately upon docking in Vermilion City Luna set her plan in action, all but running toward the nearest contest hall. Finding one was easy enough for the girl, though the contest itself would not be held for several months, but Luna soon found that actually being a coordinator was not quite as. The young coordinator would spend the next several months training as she prepared for the contest, but did so almost entirely on her own. Which proved to be rather ineffective. With no experience or even knowledge of being a coordinator and only knowing the life of a trainer, Luna ended up preparing both Lucky and Nix more for battle than anything else, and her negligence in not seeking aid proved to be her downfall. Once Luna did enter the contest she did not perform quite as well as she had hoped or even expected. At all. Rather, the girl ended up placing near last after being knocked out during the first round, her beloved Pokemon outclassed in practically every aspect of judging.
But Luna did not mind. In fact, the girl found herself all but having the time of her life. Sure, losing so badly was disappointing for the coordinator, but not only had partaking in the contest been fun for Luna, but the once reserved girl from Lumiose City actually found herself loving the spotlight and performing in front of an audience. And so the girl set out to be a better coordinator. Following the advice of several other contestants at the event, Luna would end up spending the next year traveling across Kanto. During this time the girl would not only explore the new region but also seek out advice and tips from other coordinators and experienced trainers, something she had neglected to do prior, and train her Pokemon not in the way a trainer would, but in the way a coordinator would. It was also during this time that Luna would obtain the third member of her team. After catching a Staryu during a portion of her travels the girl would come across a Sinnoh trainer who was interested in the Pokemon, and would end up trading their Buizel to Luna before parting, who the girl would come to nickname 'Lily'.
By years end Luna would end up returning to the same contest hall she had lost so badly at previously, and would enter it once more. But this time the girl was far more ready. Through all her training and experiences both Luna and her Pokemon had become far more accustomed to life as a coordinator, having worked on performance, style, and move combinations as much as flat out battling. Luna had even developed the beginnings of her own style, combining her love of music with her ambition as a coordinator to create routines for her Pokemon and synchronize their moves to a beat.
In the end Luna would still find herself short of winning the contest, but rather than end up near last, the girl now placed much higher, and had even won compliments from a few of the other coordinators and judges for her performance. Something which overjoyed the girl. No longer the lone girl from Lumiose City working in her parents cafe but now a confident coordinator with an ambition to succeed, Luna would set out once more across Kalos. Only this time she made a vow. That she would train, learn, and experience as much as she could, and that together with Nix, Lily, and her beloved Lucky she would aim for the top. And so Luna promised her Pokemon that the next contest they entered they would win, and the girl was prepared to let nothing get in the way of doing so and setting out on the path to her dream.
