Reaching for the Top [Red's Tracker]

Lucky was Luna's very first Pokemon and is not only the lead of her team, but also her closest friend. This is true despite the fact that the Pokemon is almost nothing like his trainer. Lucky is both friendly and welcoming toward both other trainers and Pokemon, and seems to have an almost insatiable curiosity and a need for adventure. Granted, this same need to explore can often land the Eevee in trouble when he rushes off without thinking or overestimates the friendliness of a wild Pokemon, and Luna has had to rescue the poor Pokemon on more than one occasion. Still, the two of them are nearly inseparable. Not only does Luna refuse to put Lucky in a Poke Ball (with the Eevee instead usually riding on her shoulder or in her bag), but the Pokemon brings out the best in the girl. It's with Lucky when Luna is the most open, relaxed, and playful, and it's due to the Pokemon that she's warmed up so much in the past few years. Needless to say the girl's journey so far would not have been as memorable as it's been without her best friend, and Lucky stands more than ready to help his trainer become the best coordinator in Kanto.

Nix was the very first Pokemon which Luna actually caught, and was the second Pokemon to join her team. The Fletchling is far different from Lucky, instead being quite shy and easy to frighten, and Nix has a hard time meeting other Pokemon and trainers, instead often opting to either remain in her Poke Ball or bury herself in Luna's bag. However, over the years Nix has warmed up to her trainer. When the coordinator and her Pokemon are alone Nix does come out of her shell, and has proven to be a surprisingly creative and playful companion. It's not uncommon for the Fletchling to play little games and tricks on Luna, and she can perhaps make Luna laugh more than any other Pokemon the girl's encountered. Both trainer and Pokemon will also occasionally listen to music together and sing duets to the tune. Luna has still yet to convince Nix to actually take part in one of her contests, but even if the Pokemon never does, Luna still appreciates the little spark of fun the small bird brings to her team.

Lily was the last member to join Luna's team, and was actually originally the Pokemon to a Sinnoh trainer who traded the Buizel for a Staryu Luna caught. And it shows. Despite traveling together for about half a year the Pokemon hardly treats Luna as her trainer, and about the only sign of approval the Buizel has ever given was toward the nickname Luna picked. Even then, Luna feels as if the Pokemon was simply in a good mood, because she has practically never responded to it since. Stubborn, demanding, and full of salt, it seems as if every attempt by Luna to befriend or train the Pokemon has ended in failure. Still, the Buizel has warmed to her new trainer a little. There are signs of a determined, protective, and fiercely loyal Pokemon underneath Lily's steel exterior, and Luna knows it will take time for this same loyalty in the Buizel for her old trainer to open up. Not that it makes it any less a pain in the butt to deal with for the coordinator.
