❝ | Just you wait, one day I'll become the best trainer around and then you'll know our names! | ❞ |
“Tatatata,” Alicia sounded as she was lying on the ground. She was rubbing her forehead, trying to make the pain from the impact go away. When she opened her eyes she saw another person before her with an Eevee pawing at them. Alicia jumped to an upright position, resting on her knees in a polite manner as she bowed in respect. “I’m sorry I wasn’t watching where I was going!”
After her apology was given the girl immediately jumped back to a sitting position. “Would you happen to have seen a Chikorita running around here?”
As soon as Alicia asked, Zephie came running around a corner of bushes and stood within five feet of Alicia. Tempting her, Zephie let her vines grow out, extending the pokedex within arm’s reach, before taunting “Chika chika!”
Alicia responded in turn by jumping up in an attempt to grab the pokedex. Zephie moved the device just a few inches above where the trainer grabbed, letting her miss. Not amused by this, Alicia kept jumping at the pokedex in its new location as Zephie inevitably moved it to just out of her reach every single time.
“Zephie!” Alicia shouted as she jumped up and had her fingers brush against her trusted device before she fell back to the ground. On the ground Alicia tackled her pokemon and tickled them, causing Zephie to retract her vines dropping the pokedex. “This is what you get!” Alicia giggled while forgetting about the original objective of getting her pokedex back.

“Well this was a nice break, wasn’t it Lucky?”
“Eevee!”
Lucky beamed up at his trainer as Luna sighed and stretched her arms, as together trainer and Pokemon stood at the edge of a gravel path within the Cerulean City park. Around them a thicket of trees blocked out most of the sky, but Luna was still reminded at just how nice the day was with each cool breeze, as the fluttering leaves caused droplets of sunlight to shower across the path. There were few things which could have made the moment more perfect for the girl. The pair, along with the rest of Luna’s team, had spent the past few days relaxing in the city after a couple weeks of hard travel. It was definitely something the four of them had needed, and the coordinator was glad she had made the choice to stay. Though Luna figured it was about time she continued on her journey.
“But we really should get going soon. Maybe next time we’ll even have enough to actually buy a bike?”
The doubtful look which Lucky threw her way was enough to cause the girl to laugh lightly. One could dream at least. The prices which they charged for bikes in the city were borderline robbery, and even after over a year and a half of traveling Luna was not even close to having enough. Not that she would give up trying.
“Anyway, let’s head back to the Pokemon Center and gra-“
The sound of a Pokemon yipping excitedly interrupted Luna, as both she and Lucky turned to see a Chikorita charge around a bend in the path and straight past them, leaving both blinking in confusion as they watched it leave them behind. Luna had just had enough time to see what looked like a Pokedex wrapped inside one of it’s vines before it once more disappeared into the foliage. Not that it answered anything.
“Was that a Chikorit-ah!”
Luna screamed as the sound of running caused her to once more turn around, only to have someone ram straight into her and send the coordinator flying backwards into the dirt. In an instant Lucky was by her side and pawing at Luna’s side in worry, but the coordinator gave him a smile to let him know she was okay, before turning toward the other person to make sure they were fine as well.

“You don’t say?”
Luna sighed as she watched the girl in front of her bow and apologize. Getting knocked off her feet was not something the coordinator appreciated, but she was at least glad to see that neither of them had been seriously hurt in the fall.
Brushing the dirt from her skirt and giving Lucky a quick pat on the head, Luna began to climb back onto her feet when the girl spoke up again. Still propped up on one knee the coordinator smiled and nodded. So that reckless Chikorita belonged to the reckless trainer? Figures.
Like trainer like Pokemon, apparently.
Before Luna could answer though she heard a cry from behind her, and turning toward the noise saw that the Chikorita had returned, and was now standing a little way down the path. Both its vines were extended toward them, and within one of them Luna once again spotted the stolen Pokedex. No doubt it belonged to the other girl. The same girl who was now frantically attempting to grab the Pokedex, as each jump was met with the Chikorita lifting the device just out of reach.
Luna had to cover her mouth to prevent a laugh from spilling out as she watched. Reckless, maybe, but the coordinator could not deny that the pair were amusing, and even Lucky yipped excitedly as the Chikorita was tackled and tickled by its trainer in their game. But Luna’s eyes soon widened as she watched the grass Pokemon’s vines disappear and let go of the Pokedex in the process.
Jumping to her feet the coordinator reached out and grabbed the device as it fell through the air, breathing a sigh of relief once it was firmly in her hand. The smile which had been on Luna’s face disappeared though as she approached the other trainer and held up the Pokedex.
“This isn’t a toy, you know. You think the professor would appreciate knowing their Pokedex was being tossed around like this?”

The giggling of the girl and her pokemon was interrupted by the stranger handing the pokedex back with a lecture along with it. Alicia immediately shot up at this and sat in a position that made it look like she was at attention. Zephie performed this action alongside her, looking just as serious. She took the device from the other girl with both hands and stuck it back inside the bag that was slung across her top so that it would be secure. “You’re right, Professor Elm wouldn’t like that…” she mumbled while contemplating her actions.
Before she could usher in any other sort of apology for the act of forgetting about the care for her pokedex, Zephie launched forward straight at the Eevee, hoping to playfully tackle them. All the while Zephie gave playful noises, hoping to instigate some sort of playful game between the two. “Rita!”
“Here you go!” Alicia yelled while tossing a green rubber ball between the two pokemon, it had the image of a leaf in dark green color on it. The ball bounced several times before Zephie grabbed it with part of her mouth and then began running around the Eevee with it. Maybe that would be enough to get the normal type to jump around with her.
