Alright, so like I mentioned in the poll I've come up with a new set of rules that will hopefully allow a bit more member creativity while still keeping things fair. The core of it is a new "point buy" system for new characters. When a character apps they'll be given a set number of "points" with which they "buy" Pokemon, and in a fashion similar to attributes for D&D, the "better" the group, i.e. the more rare or higher evolve the Pokemon, the more points it will cost to buy. The numbers I've come up with are as follows:
The Common/Rare/Banned list that we currently have will remain the same. Also what's going to be kept the same is the catch quota, in which you can catch 6 Pokemon per month with the option of 1 being Rare. Now most new characters will be given 8 points to buy their starter Pokemon. So this allows a variety of combinations from 1 1st Evolution Rare and 5 1st Evolution Commons like our old system, to 1 2nd Evolution Rare and 2 1st Evolution Commons, to 1 2nd Evolution Common, 1 1st Evolution Rare, and 1 1st Evolution Common. Gym Leaders will also no longer be able to have an unlimited number of Pokemon, but in the interest of still having them be advanced trainers with the capability of heading a gym, they'll be given 24 points to start out with. Whether you're a Gym Leader or not though you have no obligation to spend all your points, and we still strongly encourage making teams based on backstory/RP more so than Min-Maxing.
So I'm hoping this new system will alleviate some of the problems of the old one, and I'm really interested to know what you guys think, particularly about point values and total number of starting points. Also, I by no means am going to punish the members who have already joined with the old system, so for all characters who have already been accepted feel free to post below your new team rosters if you decide to change them, since the new system does give you some more wiggle room. Otherwise, if you have any questions about the system please let us know below or feel free to PM either myself or Gold .
1st Evolution Common Pokemon = 1 Point
1st Evolution Rare Pokemon = 3 Points
2nd Evolution Common Pokemon = 4 Points
2nd Evolution Rare Pokemon = 6 Points
3rd Evolution Common Pokemon = 8 Points
3rd Evolution Rare Pokemon = 10 Points
1st Evolution Rare Pokemon = 3 Points
2nd Evolution Common Pokemon = 4 Points
2nd Evolution Rare Pokemon = 6 Points
3rd Evolution Common Pokemon = 8 Points
3rd Evolution Rare Pokemon = 10 Points
